Types of USA Tourist Visas
The United States government offers two types of tourist Visas for applicants from India:
B1 Visa and the B2 Visa.
- B1 Visa – For business purposes, such as attending educational conferences, buying or selling property, or negotiating contracts and deals.
- B2 Visa – For tourism, medical treatment, attending social gatherings, sports, music, or cultural events, or enrolling in a short-term course or program.
The USA Tourist Visa allows holders to visit the United States for short-term stays of up to 6 months. Depending on the purpose of the visit, applicants can choose the appropriate visa type.
Documents Required for a USA Tourist Visa
When applying for a US Tourist Visa, you will need to submit the following supporting documents:
- A valid passport (including both current and previous passports).
- The confirmation page of the DS-160 form.
- A receipt for the application fee payment.
- Recent passport-sized photographs.
- A copy of the appointment confirmation letter.
- Proof of current income, tax payments, business or property ownership, or other assets.
- A travel itinerary and any other details regarding your planned trip.
- A letter from your employer, including details about your position, salary, employment duration, and approved vacation (if applicable).
- Any court or criminal records if you have been convicted or arrested, even if you have received a pardon or completed your sentence.
